First of all, you should know that puppies, like babies, are a lot of poop and pee as toddlers. They also don’t hold it in. That’s why they make their new home look like 。。。。 (I won’t go into it, people understand).
1. I heard from a dog trainer that generally puppies will defecate 30 minutes after eating, or about 15 minutes after drinking water. You can pay special attention at this time. If you find your dog sniffing around on the floor, be on high alert, he’s looking for a place to go to the bathroom. In addition, when your dog wakes up in the morning, he usually defecates once (both PEE and poop). So you can see your dog wake up, carry him to the place where you want him to go to the toilet, let him stay there for a while, and at the same time, you have to use a special tone of voice to the dog to say “hurry up” and so on the command (must insist on doing, even to his open wide often use this command, the dog is really will understand. They will slowly learn that your command is urging him to go to the bathroom).
2. Puppies have many, many bowel movements, and most people like to start them off on a diaper pad or newspaper. Some dogs will use the pads, but others really hate them. My dog would tear the pads to shreds. I ended up going with newspaper. At first, my dog didn’t know that the newspaper was for him to defecate, so I used the newspaper to soak up his poop, and then put the soaked up poop on the top of many sheets of newspaper (about 7 or 8 sheets), don’t throw it away yet, and then the next time you see your dog sniffing around, pick him up in time and place him on the newspaper, he will sniff the dried up sheet of newspaper, and you have to be there to keep watch, and then if he goes out, grab him back on the newspaper again. If he runs out, put him back on the newspaper. (Start by spreading the newspaper over a larger area and then slowly reduce the size of the newspaper). After that, if you see your dog going potty (sniffing around) or going potty (in the wrong place), pick him up and put him on the newspaper. Every day, leave a newspaper with his feces on the laid newspaper, usually after a few days, the dog will know that he has to go to the newspaper to solve the problem. Once he is familiar with it, congratulations, the first step is a success. You can put clean newspapers just about every day, because the dog knows to smell the newspaper to come to the bathroom.
3. The next step is simpler, you need to slowly reduce the size of the newspaper (from the size of two newspapers, to the size of a newspaper, to the size of a newspaper, and then to the size of half a newspaper. And you can slowly change the newspaper place, the newspaper slowly to the door to move, and so on the dog used to the door of the newspaper on the toilet, you can take away the newspaper, the dog to go to the toilet will go to the door to look for the newspaper, you see his behavior, you have to immediately on behalf of him to the outside to go to the toilet.
4. Then you can first select 5 basic fixed time in a day, take the puppy out. (It is best to pick a time 20 to 30 minutes after your dog has eaten.) If your dog acts like he wants to go to the bathroom outside of the 5 times, you should take him outside as well. These will be extra and not within the 5 times. When time passes the dog will know that those 5 times are for him to go potty. Keep using the potty command you gave him outside until he is done. When finished, you better pet him and give verbal encouragement and compliments (e.g. good boy, good behavior, etc. …… Let them know they did the right thing). Since dogs have a biological clock, it is best to have 5 more regular times. This way the dog will realize that when they go outside they have to go potty first. Once the dog can fully utilize those 5 times to complete their elimination tasks and is not pottying in the house, you can stick with this for a while and then you can slowly change the times from 5 to 3. (Generally, if the dog is young and you have to feed him 4 times a day take him out 5 times, once in the morning when he wakes up and then again half an hour after each meal for a total of 5.) Once your dog is used to going outside to go potty, and as he gets older, and you feed him 3 times a day, you can change the number of times you take him out to 3, once in the morning, once half an hour after his meal, and then once before he goes to bed.
