Histories
The Ragdoll Cat, originally from the United States, is the largest and heaviest of the cats. Their ancestors were white long-haired cats and Birman cats, and they were bred in 1960 and recognized in the United States in 1965. The Ragdoll cat is particularly fluffy and soft all over, like a soft Ragdoll, with a docile and quiet character, very friendly to people, tolerant, and quite strong in pain tolerance, often mistaken for a lack of pain. Very tolerant of children’s play, so named Ragdoll cat, is very ideal for family pets.
Appearance
The cat is large, with a long, muscular body, broad chest, thick and short neck, and a long developmental period, with kittens taking about three years to fully develop. It is characterized by a large, wedge-shaped head, flattened top of the head, dark blue eyes, rounded muzzle, a slight depression on the short nose, some faces have “V” shaped markings, and the neck is covered with long hair, belonging to the hairy cat category.
Some varieties of Ragdoll cats wear gloves on their front paws, and the two gloves are white, similar in size, and do not exceed the angle formed by the legs and paws. The white boots on the hind legs extend upward to the rear ankle joints, and the entire underside of the body from the chin to the tail is also white, making it the finest of the Ragdoll cats.
