Rescue methods for pets in accidents

//

When your dog or cat has an accident and the vet can’t get there right away, you can start with an emergency examination and rescue for it. Below we will introduce some methods of emergency rescue:

First, whether your pet is awake or not, first check if it has any obvious injuries, such as bleeding or misalignment. If a fracture is suspected, try not to move the injured leg. If there is a spinal injury, then use a flat surface when lifting the injured dog.

Second, if you have a second person to help, hold your pet’s body and lift it onto a blanket or coat. If you are alone, set the blanket at your pet’s side, hold onto the skin of its neck and hips, and pull it onto the blanket. Then lift the blanket and move the injured pet away from the injury. Be careful not to touch the wound.

Third, make sure your pet’s neck is extended to allow for breathing.

IV. If your pet’s pain is obvious, immobilize his mouth and nose with a temporary muzzle before moving him. Use a string or scarf around the nose and tie knots under the chin and at the back of the neck.

Fifth, even if some pets appear unharmed, their internal organs may be injured. After moving it to a safe place, take it to the vet for a thorough examination.
