Treatment of trauma and burns

//

The most common traumas are bites from dog fights and cuts to the feet. If there is blood on the dog’s fur, find the site of the bleeding, and if the bleeding is not obvious, touch the place where the hair clumps (blood clots).

Disposal methods:

  • Shave if necessary to expose the wound
  • Stop the bleeding
  • Apply bandages
  • In case of shock, follow the treatment of shock.
  • Notify veterinarian

General causes of burns:

  • Getting wet with corrosive liquids.
  • Falling into a hot tub
  • Biting on electrical wires
  • Frostbite.

Disposal:

  • Flush corrosive liquid away with cold water
  • Apply mineral oil such as petroleum jelly
  • In case of shock, follow treatment for shock
  • Notify veterinarian
